このイベントは終了しています

A talented person working on data science, data engineering, and data business over many academic and business fields is demanded now in all the countries of the world. However, we face a serious problem of the lack of talented people. Furthermore, when we focus on a woman, there are few talented people engaging in study or business with data analysis and/or informatics. As for bringing up a woman playing an active part in the field concerned, it would be the urgent problem for each country that should wrestle in future.
Based on such a background, D-DATa program* of Waseda University decided to wrestle with the problem through cooperation with Women in Data Science (WiDS **) of Stanford University.
Therefore, D-DATa program sponsors a kickoff conference on Wednesday, February 13th, 2019, with Nomura Research Institute, Ltd. Faculty of Science and Engineering of Waseda University, Doctoral Students Career Center of Waseda University,Office for Promotion of Equality and Diversity of Waseda University, Smart Systems and Services Innovative Professional Education (Smart SE) Program of Waseda University, Leading Graduate Program in Science and Engineering of Waseda University, Graduate Program for Embodiment Informatics of Waseda University, Top Global University Project: Positive/Empirical Analysis of Political Economy of Waseda University, co-sponsorship.
Becoming proficient in artificial intelligence, IoT, and information securities will be increasingly important to survive coming next generation. Considering such a situation, the kick-off conference aims at;
・To understand how big-data are utilized practically in research and business.
・To know which kinds of knowledges and skills are helpful to design career for women students and women young researchers.
・To have discussion with people succeeding in the field of industry, government and academia, and receive encouragement and message from them.

The language of the conference;
Opening Session and the Flash Talk session of Session 2 would be in English, and Session 1 and the panel discussion of Session 2 would be in Japanese.
